This week’s episode is all about Interpersonal Violence also known as IPV. My guest, Kelly Lynch, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, shares statistics on IPV, the emotional and physical impacts related to IPV, understanding our therapeutic role as a therapist when working with someone who has experienced IPV and she shares why psychoeducation on IPV is really important, for the therapist as well as the client.

A little bit about Kelly:

Kelly Lynch, LCSW, EMT, CPT, PN-1 is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Emergency Medical Technician, certified life coach, certified Fitness Trainer, and certified nutrition coach. Kelly owns two businesses, a private life coaching practice, The Unapology Project, and a private psychotherapy practice, Turning Point Wellness. She has ten years experience as an EMT, and over eleven years experience in helping guide people into a space of realizing and unlocking their greatest potential. Kelly's clinical experience is diverse, including working with children, families, and people with severe and persistent mental health disorders and substance addictions. She has contributed to the development of multiple emergency services programs, clinical programs, and education curriculums for emergency services personnel and clinical therapists, as well as taught these programs. Kelly specializes in trauma related disorders, and teaches her clients how to define what it means to live life on their terms by being in control of themselves, the choices they make, and taking the best possible care of themselves.

The objectives of this training are to help participants:

List statistics related to IPV.

Describe emotional and physical impacts related to IPV.

Summarize the therapeutic role in working with IPV survivors.

We hope you find value in this episode.

I want to tell you about a group I created on Facebook, it’s called the Talk therapist lounge and it’s a place where talk therapists can find podcast guest opportunities! That’s right! If you are a licensed talk therapist and you are looking to grow your reach and visibility, this group may be a place for you to start.

I’m working to bring in podcast hosts who are looking to interview licensed clinicians that can share their expertise and knowledge with their audiences.

Why should you be a podcast guest? Well people are crawling all over the internet, listening to podcasts and watching videos on mental health issues. My mission is to help spread the word about mental health treatment and help lower the stigma around mental health and to do that we need to get you guys out there sharing your knowledge and wisdom and how you help people live their best lives. And it will help you grow your brand and visibility and possibly help you gain new clients!

I also share how to create a podcast guest one sheet and tips and ideas for getting yourself booked on shows. So will you come join us? Look for the talk therapist lounge on facebook! Hope to see you there!
